HKIHRM HR Professional Standards

HKIHRM HR Professional Standards > Governance

Governance

In order to support the development of professional standards, working groups with members of experienced HR professionals from different backgrounds and industries will be formed. They will be contributing to enhancing and sustaining the professional standards by:

  • Setting direction and ensuring alignment

A Professional Standards Committee reporting to the Executive Council of the Institute will be formed. The Committee is responsible for monitoring the development and quality of the standards which is reflective of the HR profession.

In addition to the HKIHRM Executive Council and Professional Standards Committee, two Advisory Boards, Strategic Advisory Board and International Advisory Board, will be formed to advise on the appropriate strategies for the development of the standards from both the organisation and international perspectives and for enhancing the connections among stakeholders, the HR community and international counterparts.

  • Building systems and ensuring quality

There are three Sub-Committees, involving some 30 experienced HR professionals, to ensure proper development and operation of the relevant key areas under the professional standards. Each of the Sub-Committees has its specific role and their deliverables are:

Body of Knowledge and Assessment Sub-Committee

    • To review and recommend changes on the HR body of knowledge and the framework of assessment on a regular basis
    • To oversee setting of questions and marking of assessments

          Programme Endorsement Sub-Committee

    • To endorse or re-endorse HR programmes submitted by tertiary education  institutes according to the programme endorsement criteria
    • To review and recommend changes on the programme endorsement criteria if necessary

          Work Experience Recognition Sub-Committee

    • To review and recommend changes on the work experience recognition framework for HR professionals at professional and strategic level on a regular basis
