Programme Endorsement by HKIHRM

As KNOWLEDGE is one of the key elements in the HR Professional Standards Model, a HR Body of Knowledge is defined in representing the sum of HR knowledge for the profession. HKIHRM recognises the importance of quality HR programmes, as it introduces the HR profession to students and provides HR knowledge to them. "Programme Endorsement" is thus launched by the Institute for the endorsement of higher education HR programmes in order to ensure the alignment of the content of HR programmes offered by higher education institutions with the defined HR Body of Knowledge.

Effective April 1, 2010, individuals graduated from a HKIHRM fully endorsed programme (Degree Level) are eligible to become the Institute's Associate Member.* Those who are studying a full-time HR programme endorsed by the Institute would be eligible to become the Institute's Student Member. A "HKIHRM Endorsed Programme" logo can be used on all the publications relating to the the HR programme fully endorsed by HKIHRM.

Applications from higher education institutions for the programme endorsement are now welcomed. Details of the programme endorsement criteria can be found at the document as below.

Applications

Interested institutions can foward your HR programmes for HKIHRM's endorsement. The following documents are to be submitted:

  • Document that confirms the eligibility of your institution under Part 1 of the Programme Endorsement Criteria (UGC-funded Institutions would not need to submit this confirmation document)
  • Programme brochure or any publicity materials which covers the programme content
  • Course outlines of HR related subjects
  • Administration Fee HK$500 per programme (A cross cheque made payable to Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management Ltd.)

All applications will be vetted and recommended by the HKIHRM Professional Standards Committee and approved by the HKIHRM Executive Council. The result of endorsements will be made known to the respective applicant within 2 months from the date of receipt of complete relevant documents.

Re-endorsement

To ensure the consistency of the quality of the HR programmes endorsed by HKIHRM, re-endorsement will be required once every three years. Process, requirement and administration fee of the re-endorsement are the same as Programme Endorsement in the first instance. The institutions of the HKIHRM Endorsed Programme shall submit re-endorsement request together with all required documents to HKIHRM.
