Vetting and Approval of Membership Application

Original copies of applications should be submitted together with:

(a) copies of necessary supporting documents and credentials as specified in the form.

(b) a crossed cheque of application fee payable to "Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management Limited" where applicable.

Please send the documents to the Institute by mail at:
Units 1810-15, 18/F, Millennium City 2, 378 Kwun Tong Road, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong

All applications for Professional Members and Fellow Members are vetted and approved by the Institute's Membership Evaluation Committee (MEC) who will review applications quarterly. Applications are approved only if there is enough evidence to demonstrate that the applicants possess the prescribed standards in terms of KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE and CAPABILITY set for different levels of membership. For applicants who do not agree with the decision, an appeal mechanism is in place for applicants through which they should present valid reasons for their appeal.

Remarks:

Individuals interested to apply for professional-route-based membership should read the booklet “HKIHRM HR Professional Standards Model-Creating Values For You and For Organisations” when you prepare for your application. “My HR Career Ladder” inside the booklet gives you an idea on how to describe the contributions of HR professionals at different levels of the organisations, and it is a useful reference while you try to describe your role in the case.
